What is the relation you ask? Enigma's "Sadeness" goes without saying. This is the track that started it all and it's without question the video that will launch this new show. From there we travel into "What Is Sadness" by Device. Cretu has no connection to Device. I picked this video because the song sounds so much like Sadeness. Many people feel that Device copied Enigma's sound. I say so what...the more music that sounds like Enigma the better. This will be the first time many of you will see the video. It may be a bit disappointing but hey, I didn't direct it :) Next up is Sandra. Not every single Sandra song will sound like Enigma but she is a major part of Enigma. She is the wife of Michael Cretu and the female vocalist on many Enigma tracks. Cretu also produced all of her albums. There are so many Sandra videos as well as exclusive remixes that Gam's World has produced that you are sure to see Sandra a lot on this show. Following "Johnny Wanna Live" is Sven Vath with "L'esperanza." There is no relation to Enigma on this track other than it's Enigmatic Sound. In the last segment we have a mix of Enigmatic artists. First up is Eric B. & Rakim. Most would say "why is there rap music on this show?" There are a few reasons. Cretu likes dance music that incorperates rap into the track, the beat is "enigmatic," and Eric B. & Rakim sampled the next track "In Nin'alu" by Ofra Haza. "In Nin'alu" has a very Enigmatic feel to it. The video also captures visuals of Enigma's first album. "Pump Up The Volume" doesn't really belong on this show but it's such a cool video. It's in the "house" catagory so it made it on the show. "Paid In Full" also samples the "pump up the volume" vocal from an older Eric B. track. M/A/R/R/S sampled this vocal as well from Eric B. so it mixes well with the Eric. B. Track (Did that make sense :) Last but not least is Banco De Gaia's "Last Train To Ihasa." Again, not related to Enigma at all but sounds very similar. The video also captures the essence of Enigma. Well, that's it until May 15th when a new show featureing Robert Miles, Jean Michel Jarre, & Delerium (Silence) will hit the "air waves." Next month Gam's Enigmatic World will feature videos by Delerium (Silence--original mix--gam exclusive), Chicane, & Hubert Kah.
